Q1: Who should have/request access to eAIM?
A: The eAIM system is designed for use by the following types of users:
- FAA Insurance Analysts who process and manage aircraft accident liability insurance filings for air carriers.
- Aviation Safety Inspectors (ASIs) and Aviation Safety Support Personnel (ASSP) who use reports to view the status of operator economic authority and aircraft accident liability insurance status information.
- Air Carrier Representatives who are responsible for filing air taxi operator registration and amendments (OST Form 4507) for their operators, and who view and track operator filing statuses and review/monitor operator economic authority status and filed aircraft accident liability insurance information.
- Insurance Company Representatives and Insurance Brokers who are responsible for filing aircraft accident liability insurance certification (using OST Forms 6410 and 6411) for all air carriers they represent as required under 14 CFR Part 205.
Q2: Is the industry REQUIRED to use eAIM?
A: There is no requirement for industry participation in the FAA’s eAIM system. However, you may find there are advantages to using the eAIM system. See the “What advantages does using eAIM provide?” FAQ.
Q3: What advantages does using eAIM provide?
A: eAIM makes form submission, filing status tracking, economic authority status tracking, and insurance certification management much easier and provides significant advantages over the current paper-based processes including real-time data exchange and elimination of needs for paper filing processes.
Q4: How do I obtain an eAIM login ID?
A: To obtain an eAIM Login ID, follow these steps:
- Open your browser and type the eAIM Application site’s URL address (https://eaim.faa.gov/) into the browsers address field (or use a previously created internet shortcut). The system displays a message “You are not a registered user of the system. Please register an account.”
- Next select Register.
- You are prompted to enter a valid “FAA\” username, or valid email address.
- Next, click Verify User. The system checks the directory and automatically populates information about your username or email address if it is found. (see note for more information).
- Click Submit. The registration request is submitted and the screen displays a confirmation message instructing the user that he or she will be contacted once the account is approved.
Note: All eAIM users must have a valid FAA\ Active Directory account in order to log into the system. If you don’t have an Active Directory account, you will need to first contact the FAA myIT Help Desk at helpdesk@faa.gov to request an account. You may also use telephone 1 (844) FAA-MYIT or 1 (844) 322-6948 or navigate to the site at https://myIT.faa.gov.

Q6: What are the system and browser requirements for using eAIM?
A: The eAIM system is built to support the functions and conform to the requirements of the FAA. The system is also designed for industry users external to the FAA. Requirements specific for systems not on the FAA platform are applicable and are identified as follows:
- Browsers supported include Google Chrome, and MS Edge. If you choose to use another browser, we cannot support or troubleshoot adverse behavior.
- Browser set to accept session cookies.
- Adobe Reader version 7.1 or newer.
Q7: I accessed the eAIM site using a supported Web browser (Chrome, or Edge) and clicked the Accept button on the System Use Policy message box, but the eAIM Home Page won’t load (it just refreshes or “flashes” and continues to display the Warning Message). What is wrong?
You may be experiencing this because the browser is currently not set to accept session cookies. You can resolve this issue by changing the browser’s session cookie settings, as eAIM requires acceptance.
(Note: If your organization has restricted access to browser settings, follow your organization’s process for resolving system-permissions issues).
Select one of the following browser-specific procedures to change your browser settings:
To change the Chrome browser settings:
- Click the browser toolbar’s Customize and Control () button. The browser displays the Customize and Control Chrome menu.
- Select the Settings menu item (located at the menu’s bottom). The browser displays the Chrome Settings screen.
- Select down to the Privacy and security and click Cookies and other site data...link. The screen area expands to display the coooies settings for Chrome.
- Select Allow all cookies.
- Use the browser to refresh the eAIM screen’s display (Press the F5 key on your PC keyboard). The system reloads the eAIM Home page, activates the Accept button, and now allows use of the system.
To change the Edge browser settings:
- Click the browser toolbar’s Menu ( ) button. The browser displays the Edge Menu.
- Select the Settings menu item (located at the menu’s bottom). The browser displays the Settings panel.
- Click on Privacy and security tab on the left.
- Scroll down the panel till you get to the Cookies section and select “Don’t block cookies”.
- Close the Edge browser, and then re-open the browser and navigate to the eAIM application.
Q8: Where can I find training materials for eAIM?
A: You can find eAIM User Instructions, Training Resources, FAQs, and other related information by navigating to the eAIM menu bar and selecting the Resources menu.
Q9: Does eAIM provide any user assistance or “Help” resources?
A: User assistance or “Help” topics are accessed through the Help link (Refer to the image below), and the entire user help module can be accessed through the eAIM menu bar and selecting the Resources menu. The Resources screen also provides a link to the eAIM User Guide.
Q10: Is my information safeguarded?
A: For your protection, the eAIM system follows all FAA data privacy policies and practices. Please refer to the “FAA Privacy and Website Policy” page located at https://www.faa.gov/privacy/ for more information.
